After spending four days hosting pop up shops in Chennai, the sustainable fashion collective Tula has headed to Bengaluru to take part in several sustainable fashion events and show off new eco-friendly fabric dyeing procedures.
Tula is currently taking part in Bengaluru’s Swaraj Discovery Week and had a pop up shop at the Bhoomi Utsav event on October 2 where they sold their sustainable, organic cotton garments. The brand is also at the Radio Active event from October 3 to 5 where V R Ananthoo, one of the brand’s founders, will give a talk about sustainable fashion at every step of the production process.

The event will be hosted by several groups working on sustainable farming and safe food, khadi and handloom, local governance, local economy and self-reliance. MSSW (Madras School of Social Work) and Mission Samriddhi will be co-hosting the event.
‘Conversing Gandhi’ aims at bringing together students of social sciences from several institutions across the city, a number of Gandhian changemakers, and Chennai citizens in a lively, festival-like atmosphere. A variety of events will be held — talks by Gandians or experts, music, storytelling, spinning workshops, panel discussions, an exhibition and stalls of various groups working with spinners or weavers that will display and sell handmade artisanal products and organic food.
